STONEHAM, Maine — Since 1974, Camp Susan Curtis has served tens of thousands of Maine children facing economic hardship, providing them with transformative camp experiences that build confidence and nurture a sense of belonging.

“All children who participate in camp, grade five through high school, are from families or households with an income that would qualify for economic hardship. Our service is tuition-free and we have a network of 100 school referral partners representing every county in Maine. Over 70 percent of our campers return each summer which is an especially high number given the barriers for the population we serve,” said Scott Merrow, executive director of Camp Susan Curtis.
