In the world of the ever increasing list of foods we cannot eat, enter the "lectin," aka the new gluten.

Lectins in are found in many vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, oils, fungi and grain-fed animal products. A lectin is a protein associated with a plant’s defense mechanism to keep it from being eaten and promote survival of the plant species.
