TAMWORTH — On the first official day for athletes to sign their spring college letters of intent, Whitney Roberts, Kennett High's All State (First Team) pitcher, accepted a scholarship to take her talents south next fall to Barry University.

Founded in 1940 in Miami, Florida, the university enrolls 2,747 full-time undergraduate students and 3,748 graduate students.
