CONWAY — The Kennett High girls’ basketball team ran into a Merrimack Valley squad that looked in mid-season form on opening night in the Peter Ames Gymnasium on Friday night. The visiting Pride used a swarming press to jump out to a 16-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a comfortable 63-12 victory.

MV is predicted to be in the chase for the Division II crown this winter, while Kennett, which has 10 freshmen among the 16 girls out for the program, is in a rebuilding phase.
