CONWAY — Near full strength with a host of Eagles back from vacation, injuries and illness, the Kennett High boys’ and girls’ track teams were competitive at Belmont on Tuesday and even better on Saturday. The boys were second on the day in the six-school meet, while the girls from Conway finished fourth, a point out of third on Tuesday, but Saturday, the KHS took team honors while the boys were second in a nine-school meet.

“It’s the best shape our roster has been in this season,” said Bernie Livingston, Eagles’ head coach, of the Tuesday meet. “We had a pretty good day and the weather actually came close to cooperating. There was some drizzle on the way down but then it got cloudy when the meet started and it turned partly sunny, at least I think that’s what the yellow thing in the sky is called.”
