MANCHESTER — Football truly is a game of inches. The Kennett High football team was inches away from an opening night overtime victory on the road at Manchester West on Friday. The Blue Knights’ defense was able to hold Eagles at the goal line and then booted a field goal to clinch a 9-6 victory in a well played contest.

“Manchester West is a tough, tough team,” said Scott Stearns, Eagles’ head coach. “We had our shot. I thought we were going to pull it out at the end.”
