CONWAY — This was not the season the Kennett High boys’ tennis team envisioned. With a veteran flock of Eagles returning, this spring they had their sights set on the playoffs and possibly hosting a post-season encounter.
Unfortunately, injuries are a part of sports and Coach Jason Cicero’s team suffered a big one before the season opened. Senior Daven Bailey, who likely would have been the team’s No. 1 singles player, was lost to shoulder surgery. This forced a major lineup shift with everyone moving up one rung on the ladder.
