CONWAY — The Kennett High baseball team left its mark on the diamond this year, and may have set the program on its future course in the process. The Eagles returned to the Division II state semifinals for the first time since 2006 last Thursday, and while they came out on the short end of a 5-1 scoreline to Goffstown at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, they proved they belong on the big stage.

“They can be disappointed for sure,” Josh McAllister, Eagles’ head coach, said, “but I think when they have an opportunity to look back on all they accomplished this season, they should also be very proud. Since 2006, baseball at Kennett had been bad. These guys changed that. They changed the way others look at Kennett baseball. They may have single-handily revived Kennett baseball.”
