CONWAY — The annual Kennett Challenge Race more than lived to its advanced billing last Wednesday at the Kennett Middle School. The fun two-mile race brought out great competition from the Kennett High and Fryeburg Academy cross-country teams, who are prepping for their season debuts, along with a talented cast of White Mountain Milers.

The Milers, led by Corey Dowe, a former standout at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in cross-country and track and field, and the health teacher at Kennett Middle School, who broke the women’s course record in 2019, finishing in 11:29, took first place for the fifth year in a row, winning in 11:48. Dowe led a podium sweep by the Milers, who took overall team honors with Kennett finishing second and Fryeburg third.
