For its 18th year, the Maine International Film Festival will offer audiences 10 days of the best local, national and international independent cinema.

MIFF opens July 10 with Tumbledown, the work of Portland-based filmmakers Desi Van Til and Sean Mewshaw, and will run through July 19, with screenings at Waterville's Railroad Square Cinema and the Waterville Opera House. This year's festival will screen new films with ties to Maine; restored and rediscovered historic films, including The Third Man and A Fistful of Dollars; and new works from acclaimed international filmmakers.
