2-21-2020 Basch-Twisted Pine Terrain Park

A skier makes his way through the Twisted Pine Terrain Park at King Pine. (COURTESY OF KING PINE)

February vacation sees a spike in terrain park usage across the valley. Lots of time and effort go into their building and upkeep.

Safety is paramount in terrain parks and that starts with Park S.M.A.R.T. Basically, it’s about thinking and respect. S means to start small. Work your way up. Build your skills. M stands for make a plan. Every feature. Every time. A tells to always look. Before you drop. R means respect, both the features and others. T is for take it easy. Know your limits. Land on your feet.
