A very popular winter hike is the 3.2-mile hike up the Crawford Path to Mount Pierce (4,312 feet). About a month ago, three of us did it. Winter was just approaching. Today, it will be fun to reminisce a little, as I look out the window at deep snow in the deep freeze.

That morning we drove up through Crawford Notch and just after the AMC Highland Center we turned right on the Mount Clinton Road. In 100 feet, we turned left down to the parking lot for the Crawford Path. It was about 9:30 a.m. and there were a dozen cars there already.
