Valley clean up day is a chance to show we love where we live. (STEVE ANGERS PHOTO)

This morning was spent in the rain and drizzle casting for trout in the “pond that shall not be named.” When it is wet and cold and the catching is slow an angler’s mind wanders. Contemplating how fortunate to be able to launch a canoe, cast some flies and perhaps catch a trout is one of the ways to bring warmth to the heart of a rain-soaked angler.

For over 20 years, Trout Unlimited has played a role in this angler’s journey. Habitat restoration. Teaching youth the art of fly fishing. Fundraising. All in pursuit of making the cold clean waters of New England habitable for the trout and the humans that call the river home.
