It was late in the day as Troutman sped along the backwoods road to camp. He knew that the Old Timer was there having gotten to camp a couple of days early to open and prepare for the fishing weekend. No time was to be wasted once the start of New Hampshire trout pond fishing began.

Passing one of the swamp donkeys alongside the road, Troutman smiled. It was good to see a moose that was in healthy condition. The dry fall and the cold winter appeared to have kept the ticks at bay.
