Bikers take to the Thorne Pond trails. (ATTITASH MOUNTAIN PHOTO)

While Attitash skiers and snowboarders look forward to riding the new high-speed Mountaineer quad, dirt downhillers need a bit more patience for the return of lift-served mountain biking to the Bartlett resort.

Downhill mountain biking, once a summer and fall staple, has been dormant since 2020 when Vail Resorts took over ownership and focus eventually shifted to a couple of crucial winter operation lift projects — replacing both the Double-Double lifts and the sluggish Summit Triple. Other summer activities like the alpine slide, zip tour, water slides and mountain coaster have been suspended for two years.
