GLEN — Bartlett-Jackson EMS is offering bystander (HeartSaver) CPR and First Aid courses for the public in a push to improve the recognition, frequency and quality of CPR provided by laypeople prior to the arrival of EMS and first responders.

About 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur at home, and rapid CPR is essential for cardiac arrest survival.
