April is typically the beginning of the cycling season. As the weather warms up and snow disappears, bicycles come out of storage, get dusted off and tires pumped up for the first season’s ride. Whether you’re 6 or 66, the pedal urge arrives with longer days and sunshine.

In April, the Mount Washington Valley Bicycling Club usually hosts its “spring meeting” to celebrate the new cycling season. There’s a power-point presentation outlining what the club is about and telling about projects and events for the coming year. There’s a long list of club sponsored weekly rides, from Ride and Dine to Spin on Sundays. There are slides about cycling safety.
