Riding by yourself can be fun, but lonely. It’s true you can go wherever you want, set your own pace and turn around when you’ve had enough. You are the master of your ride. But you are also on your own to solve problems that may come your way. At some point in your riding experience, you might want to try a group ride to see its advantages.

A group ride can be “two or more” individuals. I’ve been on group rides with only a friend or two. I’ve also been on group rides of 30 or more riders. I tend to prefer the former, but have also enjoyed the latter. To me, riding with friends whose skills and interests are similar to mine is great fun. But riding with new people has also taught me a lot about how to ride and communicate in a group.
