Because the New Year’s fireworks follow Cranmore’s fireworks and are set off at 9:30 p.m., after most North Conway businesses close, the North Conway Village Association has decided not to hold them this year. The display cost $10,000. However, some organizations and businesses, such as the Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce and Conway Scenic Railroad, would like them to continue — perhaps with other related events that evening.
