The state is planning a major 3.2-mile upgrade of Route 16 in Albany from Pine Knoll Road to Cream Brook north of Tanglewood Motel & Cottages. There have been more than 100 crashes there in the past 10 years. Planned improvements include widening sections, adding turn lanes and straightening curves. Adding roundabouts or reducing the speed limit have already been rejected. The downside to improving the road is that vehicles will be tempted to drive faster.

This week’s Tele-Talk question: What ways would you suggest to make Route 16 through Albany safer?
