As traffic in Conway has become congested and town officials recently expressed interest in having the state do a traffic study, Town Engineer Paul DegliAngeli on Tuesday suggested it may be time to “place a moratorium on certain industries,” particularly lodging, saying an ordinance could be written to cap the number of hotel rooms in the area “so before one can get built, one another has to be demolished.” The town has recently approved a number of large hotel projects, as well as banking, restaurant and shopping facilities. DegliAngeli noted the state doesn’t own any rights of way to expand roads in the area.

This week’s Tele-Talk question: Should the town of Conway consider a cap on hotel rooms to address traffic congestion in town?
