CONWAY — Longtime Conway Selectman Mary Carey Seavey resigned abruptly Tuesday after the board interviewed four applicants for the seat vacated by Selectman John Colbath, who resigned two weeks ago.

At the April 14 town election, Seavey ran unopposed with fellow incumbent Ryan Shepard. Shepard and Seavey received 1,198 and 1,140 votes, respectively. Seavey made the announcement of her resignation, effective May 13, toward the end of Tuesday's meeting during the board reports section.
