To the editor:I read the Tele-Talk responses on Bush reuniting the country, as well as several letters to the editor in several papers, and am amazed by the venomous hatred of President Bush. Susan Bruce preaches to us through her column of the need to be compassionate and accepting of those around us, yet she calls the duly elected president of this country a dolt. Others call him an idiot, and even worse. When one Democratic neighbor of mine saw the Bush-Cheney signs in my front yard before the election, he made the comment that they may just have to cut the brake lines on my vehicle so I couldn't vote. He said this as a joke, but it is also a good illustration of the hatred some Democrats have of all things Republican and conservative. To answer Susan Bruce, yes, I am a right-wing, religious whacko. One letter writer I read wrote that everyone who voted for Bush was an idiot with no intelligible I.Q. I would venture to say if any Republican had made these comments about Kerry, if he had been elected, we would have been chastised as hate-mongerers, and have had the ACLU hounding down our backs in a heartbeat. I am tired of all the hate speech coming out of these people who preach that we must accept all people regardless of their beliefs and backgrounds, unless, of course, you disagree with them over any point they hold dear. It's time for them to get over the fact that Bush was elected, and that he will not resign and hand the reins of the country over to John Kerry just because the minority of voters think that is best. Quit your whining and work with us on making this country as great as it can be. The other countries in the world don't look at George Bush and laugh; they look at the whining, sniveling, little brats and shake their heads, just as we look at the spoiled, little brat making a scene in the store and shake our heads.I say this to you all: show how grown up you are, and work with us instead of against us. You will have your chance to see if you learned your lessons in four short years.
