To the editor:Jeb Bradley just doesn't keep his promises.During the 2002 campaign, Jeb Bradley told us he supported reimportation of American-made prescription drugs from Canada, and promised he would vote for this if we elected him. This legislation would have made much-needed medicine more affordable to seniors and others. Yet just six months after Bradley went to Washington, he caved under pressure from House Leader Tom Delay and voted to kill HR2427, a bill giving our seniors access to affordable prescription drugs from Canada.Bradley promised he would bring the N.H. value of fiscal responsibility to Washington and reduce the national debt. Yet he has consistently supported partisan legislation leading to larger deficits, and under his watch, our country's debt has increased to over $8 trillion. That's equivalent to more than $25,000 for every person in America! Where has all our money gone? Mostly to tax breaks for the richest 1 percent. And if Jeb had his way, the rich would get even more tax breaks, like an end to the inheritance tax on estates of over $25 million and lower taxes on stock market gains.Bradley also promised in 2002 that he would work to see that the federal government provided more resources for education. Yet virtually every national educational association gave Bradley a failing grade this past year for his lack of support on educational issues. Despite his promises, he has cut everything from school funding to student loans.New Hampshire is tired of a leader who breaks his promises; who says one thing in New Hampshire and does something else when he's down in Washington. We need to elect Carol Shea-Porter to congress on Nov. 7.P.S.: When I served in the state senate, I was a Republicanbut not anymore and never again.
