To the editor:

What is Paul DegliAngeli thinking? Putting two turning lanes heading north and a third heading towards Fryeburg is the dumbest idea.

I am sure the town planners know what they are doing. Perhaps we should think of the advantages of two lanes instead of the possible disadvantages. The town planners study these issues very carefully.

It’s too bad that Conway worked so hard to prevent the ByPass from being built, the traffic situation would have resolved itself. The businesses were so concerned that Conway would be “bypassed” by the tourists who would head north to Berlin/Gorham and points north! How did that work for you? The last time I was in Conway I couldn’t help but notice ALL the empty storefronts/strip malls while extensive building continues! Meanwhile, in B/G on most weekends there isn’t a hotel room to be found and most restaurants are full!

BTW, everyone panicked when I95 was built and bypassed Littleton. Naysayers said that Littleton would die. Far from it! They seem to be thriving! And they have done it without out of controlled building. Very few empty storefronts there…..
