To the Editor:

Last Thursday night, I stood helplessly by with my husband and another neighbor as Sandy Guptill’s home burned in a raging fire. My prayers were for her safety and the safety of the 40 or so fire personnel who responded. In my entire life, I have never witnessed such a tragic scene managed by the most brave, dedicated men and women one could ever imagine.
