To the editor:

The underlying concept that continues to be raised in discussions of unification with MaineHealth is that medicine is changing, and the institutions must change to survive for the future. The argument is a small community rural hospital cannot survive without unification —  we must deliver our hospital and possible local caretakers to a larger institution that is going to survive and take care of us.
