To the editor:

I am a 77-year-old senior citizen with several medical problems that require ambulance transportation to the hospital. On Memorial Day, I was having severe pain in my hip and leg. I called for an ambulance, and the Ossipee service came because I am overweight. I need the bariatric stretcher which is wider. The EMTs called Conway, as they have the only one in the area. This is a state-issued stretcher for the region. They refused to come to Tamworth and get me.
