To the editor:

Among the Memorial Hospital handouts at the Oct. 11 public informational meeting regarding “unification” with MaineHealth was one brochure that included a list of members of the hospital’s board of trustees. As I only recognized one name, I shared the list with a number of people in this area. Most said they knew no one on the list. A few recognized one name or, at most, two. It would be nice, I think, if the hospital administration — as part of its “transparency” approach — would inform the community of the names of the board members, something of their backgrounds, their community involvements and from whence they came.
