To the editor:I just finished reading School board defers $1 million in unfunded building needs. In the Dec. 15 edition of The Conway Daily Sun. I am now convinced that this high school thing is turning into a real fiasco. How can you not have funds available for lockers and furniture? An even larger question is, how can you agree to pay 25 percent more just so it can be put off for later? Am I the only person that thinks this whole process is crazy?Bartlett residents will have an opportunity to speak up on Jan. 3, 2006, at the Bartlett Elementary. I would like to suggest that if you care about whats going on and how this is going to impact you property tax, you should show up. I think that if the school board told the public what the cost per pupil is going to be the place would be packed on Jan. 3.Now for the reality. Since most folks believe that they cannot make a difference (which is not true), since we will not learn the cost per pupil until after the fact and since Bartlett property taxes are still pretty low, it will be a miracle if more than 20 people show up at the Jan. 3 school board meeting.I am planning on being there!
