When my wife and I decided to get married, I wanted to show her Paris on our honeymoon, but she had no passport, and had never had one. She said that the East Coast inflicted such culture shock on her, after growing up in central Kansas, that she had never felt the need to travel further. We therefore settled on Vieux Québec, where the need for passports had never yet been considered.

Last summer, for our anniversary, I decided that we had waited long enough, and took my now-grey-haired bride to Paris. Also to Norway, Harrison and Naples.
