Why I Resigned

Until now, I have deliberately refrained from publicly discussing many of the details surrounding the events that preceded my resignation from the Conway Select Board. I have no criticism of the newspaper or its reporting of this matter. However, now that my name and my involvement have become part of the public discussion, I believe it is appropriate for me to speak for myself.

At a recent selectmen's meeting, the chair stated that this matter is “over and done with.” I am not asking selectmen to reopen the investigation or reconsider its conclusions. I am writing because I want to ensure that the public has an accurate understanding of what I knew, what I did not know, what I witnessed, and why I ultimately resigned from the board.
