For several years, I’ve been preaching about the importance of clean water. It’s like air, you rarely think about it until you suddenly can’t breathe. Folks in Eaton are finally starting to get the point.

On Sunday around lunchtime I zipped into town for some more building materials. It was 87 degrees and the skies were blue with scarcely a cloud in sight. Occasionally a gentle breeze would provide momentary relief from what was otherwise a sweltering day. As I drove by the beach I was overcome by an eerie feeling — not a soul in sight.
