CONWAY — The North Conway Community Center on Wednesday avoided a clash with the town budget committee by reducing their funding request by $10,000 — something budgeteers have been asking them to do for years.

The community center, located at 78 Norcross Circle in North Conway Village, describes itself as a non-profit that provides recreational activities to children and adults. It also hosts other community-minded groups, according to literature it provided to the budget committee.
