Rescuers shot to the county jail just after daybreak Monday after reports of a suicide attempt by a female inmate.County and jail officials declined to discuss the reports that said the woman was conscious with shallow breathing about 6:50 a.m., as an ambulance raced to County Farm Road.An officer who answered the phone at the jail said Carroll County House of Corrections Director Dennis Robinson was directing inquires to the county commission. Carroll County Commissioner Marge Webster refused to comment. Ossipee police said to be conducting an investigation could not immediately be reached. Attempts to reach commissioners David Sorensen and Peter Olkkola were also unsuccessful.
