CONWAY — A 45-minute tour last Saturday of the Conway Village Congregational Church (the Brown Church) led by head trustee Anne Getchell and the Rev. John Hughes showed a good amount of damage inflicted when a torrential rainstorm on Dec. 19 caused floodwaters from the Saco River to infiltrate the 1906-built structure.
The flooding damaged the fuel tanks in the crawlspace on the lower level, causing a pipe to break and 700 gallons of oil to seep into the soil below it.
