JACKSON — The Honeymoon Bridge, which carries traffic from Route 16A over the Ellis River, was damaged three times in 2018 by motorists striking the historic covered bridge, but Jackson Police Chief Chris Perley was in District Court of Northern Carroll County on Tuesday to prosecute a fourth: a collision that occurred in 2017.

James Chryst, 65, of Stratford pleaded guilty to conduct after an accident — leaving the scene — and paid a $314 fine along with $317.14 in restitution to the state Department of Transportation Bridge Division, the owner of the Honeymoon Bridge.
