CONWAY — The storm that arrived Tuesday night brought an additional 9-plus inches of powder to the Mount Washington Valley, just ahead of a cold spell that will push lows into minus territory.

Brian Fitzgerald, director of education for the Mount Washington Observatory, said the latest snowfall brought January's monthly total for North Conway to 37.9 inches, which compares with a 30-year average of 20.8 inches.
