PINKHAM NOTCH — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) had a busy day last Tuesday as she celebrated the new Mount Washington Observatory snow cat at the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, then took a trip to the summit to tour the weather station to meet with young campers at one of the Obs’ summer camps.

Just after noon on Aug. 11 by the Auto Road entrance, Obs Director of External Affairs Charlie Buterbaugh welcomed around 30 attendees representing the observatory, Auto Road, Cog Railway, snow cat manufacturer PistenBully, Mount Washington Commission, which advises the the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources in the management of the summit property, and others involved in the New Hampshire tourism industry.
