BROWNFIELD, Maine — A Brownfield man was shot by an Oxford County sheriff’s deputy Monday after authorities said he pointed a gun at officers who responded to a report of a domestic dispute. But the man’s wife tells a different story.

Members of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Fryeburg Police Department, Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service all responded to 11 Porter Road shortly after receiving a report that 40-year-old Aric Junkins was chasing his wife with a gun, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
