CONWAY — The Conway School Board will get a recommendation from the SAU 9 administration about how to make a $1.2 million cut next Wednesday, April 17. The recommendation will probably include closure of a school. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Professional Development Center. The new date is nearly a week earlier than the regular meeting on April 22.
The district’s operating budget of $40,109,103, was defeated, 876 no to 859 yes votes, by Conway voters on Tuesday. That triggers the default budget of $39,002,004 to go into effect, barring it being overturned by a recount requested earlier this week.
