SAU 13 to receive more than $500,000 in life-safety infrastructure grants

TAMWORTH — SAU 13 School Superintendent Lou Goscinski announced last Friday that the Freedom, Madison and Tamworth school districts collectively have been approved to receive over $500,000 in grants under the New Hampshire Life-Safety Infrastructure Fund.

According to the state Department of Education, the fund “was established by the state Legislature to provide an E-rate state match to bring fiber connection to schools, address life and safety deficiencies in school buildings, and improve security in schools. It also established a Public School Infrastructure Commission to review grant applications and make recommendations to fund projects to the Governor and Executive Council for approval.”
