CONWAY — If you ask state Sen. Andy Sanborn to describe himself, he likes the label “the ultimate outsider fighting from the inside.” The Bedford resident running to be the GOP nominee in the 1st Congressional District also defended the joke that landed him in hot water with the N.H. Senate president and his political opponents.

Sanborn, 56, and Laurie, his wife and a state representative, were in North Conway on Friday to meet with supporters and tour area businesses. He also attended an editorial board at the Sun.
