FRYEBURG, Maine — When the Raiders take on the Nokomis Regional High School Warriors for the Class C State Championship at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland, Maine, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., Fryeburg Academy will be vying for a state football title for the first time in 53 years.

The No. 2 seeded Raiders earned their way to the state finals with a thrilling 20-13 victory over Leavitt, top seed in the South Regional Championship game, last Saturday night in the mud in Turner, Maine, home of the Hornets.
