JACKSON — Black Mountain and town selectmen last week reached an accord on multiple legal conflicts. Under their agreement, the ski area will be able to hold New Year’s Eve fireworks, continue snowmaking (which some deemed too noisy) and sell alcoholic beverages at spots such as the Alpine Cabin. In return, Black Mountain will drop the federal and state lawsuits it filed against the town, observe quiet hours and install bathrooms at the Alpine Cabin for the 2026-27 ski season.

Both sides say they are optimistic about the resolution.
