OSSIPEE — After meeting in non-public session for 45 minutes Tuesday, Ossipee selectmen’s chair Martha Eldridge and Selectman Sue Simpson voted to appoint former Selectman Jonathan Smith to the board to serve until next March when a general election will be held.
Smith is filling the seat of former Selectman R. Christopher Templeton, who had been elected in March, but who resigned May 8 after Eldridge and Simpson had threatened Templeton that they would go to court if he did not leave office, over various accusations of misconduct.
