CONWAY — George Wiese, who has been executive director of Mountain Top Music Center for the past 15 years, has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the year. He has led the organization since 2011, and, with the active support of its board of directors, staff and volunteers, oversaw the renovation of downtown Conway’s Majestic Theater, Majestic Cafe and Bolduc block. The project has transformed the original music school into a vibrant cultural hub and performance space.
“It's been the honor of a lifetime to lead Mountain Top Music Center for the past 15 years. I'll cherish the friendships formed, students taught, and music played at MTMC as I begin the next chapter of my life and career,” Wiese says. His departure, he adds, reflects his desire to focus on music performance.
