NORTH CONWAY — It was standing-room-only in the Weather Discovery Center meeting room last Friday, when two Mount Washington Observatory staff scientists — Dr. Eric Kelsey, director of research, and Taylor Regan, research specialist — told the dramatic story of the record-setting 231 mph wind verified 85 years ago on the rocky summit.

Kelsey holds a joint position at the MWOBS and Plymouth State University’s Meteorology program.
