FRYEBURG, Maine — The MSAD 72 annual school budget meeting saw a huge turnout of voters on Wednesday night, and ultimately, they thwarted an attempt to cut raises for the superintendent and his staff and added $450,000 to the budget.

The meeting was held at Molly Ockett School in Fryeburg, and about 350 people attended. The district consists of Fryeburg, Brownfield, Denmark, Sweden, Lovell, Stoneham and Stow in Maine, as well as Chatham, N.H. The district tuitions students to Fryeburg Academy.
