CONWAY — About 50 people assembled at the Conway Village Cemetery on Monday for the annual American Legion Post 46 observances to commemorate the military who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country.

Madison and Fryeburg, Maine, also hosted parades, and ceremonies took place in Jackson, Bartlett and North Conway, among other towns.
